Smithsonian Affiliate in San Francisco, our specialists transported and installed a
monumental sculpture composed entirely of human hair. Working closely with the
museum's curatorial and installation teams, we engineered custom frames to protect the
sculpture's stability from initial packing through final installation.

Yes. While advance planning is always preferred, we understand that urgent situations arise. With teams and facilities across key global locations, we can often accommodate short-notice requests, including expedited transport and flexible scheduling. For time-sensitive moves, our team will assess the most appropriate transport solution based on urgency, location, and scope. Where timelines allow, scheduled shuttle services may also be considered, though urgent requests typically require bespoke or expedited transport. Availability depends on scope, location, and timing, so we recommend contacting us as soon as possible.

Cadogan Tate does not sell or arrange insurance. Every item handled, transported, or stored is covered by the Asset Protection Programme (APP), a contractual liability framework defining our responsibility while your assets are in our custody. Clients choose from three levels: Essential Protection (default), Full Value Protection (declared value), or Client Insurance Only. The APP works alongside any insurance you hold. Speak to your account manager to confirm the right level for your collection.

Yes. Our in-house crate shops build bespoke crates for each project, tailored to both transport and storage needs. For museum loans and other exhibition-grade requirements, we also build museum-grade custom crates: a distinct, higher specification designed for repeated use across multiple moves, not just a single trip. We handle irregularly shaped, intricate, and delicate structures that call for specialized packing solutions as well. No item is too sensitive or esoteric, from ancient fabrics to organic matter.
Yes. Our technicians come from backgrounds in art history, fine arts, and museum curation, and receive comprehensive training across diverse and complex handling scenarios. That training continues throughout their careers with ongoing in-house education at the Cadogan Tate Academy, so your collection is always in experienced hands.
Cadogan Tate does not perform conservation or restoration work directly. We’ve partnered with world-class restorers and conservators who provide guidance to our teams, and should the need arise, we can recommend trusted specialists from our network to support your collection. We can facilitate on-site climate-controlled spaces for restoration and conservation work or alternatively move property domestically or internationally to the right specialist.
