Why Choose Cadogan Tate Fine Art Installers?

At Cadogan Tate, we understand that the process of fine art installation goes well beyond simply hanging a piece on the wall: every professional art installation process is as unique as the artwork itself. A delicate objet d’art or modern masterpiece might require the utmost delicacy and care; a sculpture installation may require the complicated in situ reassembly of  many individual pieces; and a monumental piece of public art may well need specialised foundations and mounting hardware.

We have handled all these challenges and many more, and in doing so, we have earned a reputation as the world’s foremost experts in fine art installation. We are trusted by the world’s top galleries, auction houses, museums and private collectors. We specialise in going above and beyond to create bespoke solutions for artworks that require the sort of expertise only we can offer. And most importantly, we care. We know how important your art is to you, and we’ll work in partnership with you to ensure that it’s installed carefully and correctly.

Comprehensive Cadogan Tate Fine Art Installation Solutions

We offer comprehensive, tailored solutions that cover every part of the installation process. Whether it’s museum art installation, setting up for an exhibition at a gallery, or preparing a piece for display in a corporate environment or private home, we begin every installation process by formulating a strategy that’s tailored individually to both the needs of the client and the nature of the artwork. Our expertise and experience allow us to identify potential challenges from the outset, and to ensure those potential challenges never become real-life problems.

We manage every aspect of the project to ensure that every piece we handle is installed safely, securely, and exactly where our client wants it–and all the work required is carried out by our expert technicians, from the moment the piece arrives at its new home until the last screw is tightened.

Gallery and Museum Installation Expertise by Cadogan Tate

Exhibitions at prominent museums or galleries are often huge logistical undertakings, and a problem with the transport and installation of even a single piece can make or break an event’s success. Cadogan Tate’s gallery installation service is built on a commitment to making sure every piece for which we’re responsible is installed correctly, precisely and punctually.

We’re comfortable liaising with carriers, air freight brokers and customs authorities to ensure that pieces crossing international borders arrive safe, undamaged and on time. We offer a variety of storage solutions for pieces that are in transit, or that need to be stored safely until an exhibition is ready for installation.

Once the time comes for the exhibition to be set up, we’ll ensure that the piece gets to where it needs to be, and does so on time and ready for display. We can work with galleries and museums to coordinate the installation process, and we can also provide customised security solutions to guard against theft, vandalism and/or other unwanted attention.

Cadogan Tate’s Corporate and Private Collection Installations

The most important considerations for an installation project can often be the most subtle: is a proposed location exposed to sunlight? Is it directly beneath an HVAC outlet, which might damage fragile paint with cold air? Is a precious painting hung where it might be brushed by passing hands, or at a height where it might be dislodged accidentally? Our staff can assess prospective locations and spot potential risks, and advise on how to mitigate those risks.

Where more significant work is required to ensure a piece is installed safely, we can work with architects, engineers and builders to make sure that wall-mounted pieces are hung safely and securely, that free-standing pieces have the structural support necessary to carry their weight, and that all relevant regulatory requirements are met. We can also work in collaboration with interior designers, decorators, space planners and other design professionals to ensure that every piece does the best possible job of complementing the space in which it’s displayed.

Installations in private and corporate spaces also require care in minimising disruption to clients’ schedules. At Cadogan Tate, we take pride in formulating solutions to such challenges, and we ensure that our installation technicians work discreetly and efficiently throughout the installation process.

FAQs: Your Questions Answered by Cadogan Tate

How do I schedule an art installation consultation with Cadogan Tate?

You can make an enquiry right here.

How do I prepare for an installation?

The most important thing you can do is think carefully about exactly where you want your artwork to be placed, and about whether the proposed location is appropriate. Our staff can assist you with this assessment, but there are questions you can consider in advance:

– Does the proposed location present any sort of risk to the piece? (For example, some pieces should not be in direct sunlight, or above a working fireplace, or in high traffic areas.)

– Can the proposed location accommodate the piece, or will work be required for it to do so? (For example, some walls might need structural support to hang heavy pieces.)

– Is the proposed location accessible? (For example, furniture might need to be moved to allow our staff access, other works might need to be taken down or relocated, and if a work is to be hung high on a wall, ladders or scaffolding might need to be moved into place.)

Our staff can assist with all these questions, but considering them ahead of the day of installation will expedite the process.

What sort of security measures will Cadogan Tate take with my fine art?

We conduct an assessment process for every piece we handle. This involves taking a photographic record, completing a detailed condition report, and determining the correct packing materials and appropriate environment for during transport and handling. Once the assessment is complete and the work is packed, it is issued with a unique barcode label that is scanned every time it is handled or moved.

If your artwork needs to be stored en route, it will be placed in one of our storage facilities. All our facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art, AAA-rated central station monitored security systems with extensive CCTV camera coverage. They are also equipped with climate control and fire protection systems. Further details on individual facilities are available in our facility reports.

We conduct extensive background checks and screening on all our staff, and provide them with extensive, ongoing training.

All vehicles are climate controlled, equipped with air ride suspension systems, and GPS satellite tracked with dash video recording. We can arrange security follow cars and escort couriers for certain high value shipments upon request.

If a piece is to be displayed in a public setting, we can provide security hanging hardware that ensures the piece is secured to the wall and cannot simply be lifted off its hooks.

Does Cadogan Tate engage subcontractors or use other external labour?

We have a global team of nearly 800 expert staff, allowing us to use our own staff for all global installation services. Where possible, we also use our own staff for all other work. In cases where we need to engage subcontractors—usually for specialist services or in locations where we don’t have an office—we rely on a network of carefully vetted service providers.
