Following the success and attention gained by last year’s awards, the shortlist for the 2014 Antiques Young Gun of the Year award has been announced.
Founded last year by Gail McLoed, George Johnson and Mark Hill and awarded to Timothy Medhurst of Reeman Dansie Auctioneers, the Antiques Young Gun of the Year award is open to anyone working in the business aged 39 or under including people who are working for auction houses, learning how to be restorers, organising regional and international fairs and, of course, dealing.
This year’s award has gained extra gravitas by the involvement of 11 senior-level members of the industry, dubbed the ‘Antiques Heavy Artillery’ including:

Up for grabs at this year’s prestigious award ceremony, to be held on Friday 4th July at Alfies Antiques Market, will be one of eight Lorfords’ showcase awards, a mentorship with one of the 11 ‘Antiques Heavy Artillery’, the Judith Miller Award for Outstanding Potential and, of course, the much coveted Antiques Young Gun of the Year award.
